Inara Roja, MD PhD, is a clinical neurologist, certified physician hypnotherapist residing in Riga, Latvia, and working at Riga 1st Hospital. She has been practicing cognitive hypnotherapy for over 25 years and had published scientific articles at the Latvian and European medical journals about use evidence-based medical hypnotherapy in the individual and combined treatment of neurotic and psychosomatic patients. Inara Roja is a proponent of an American psychiatrist Milton Hyland Erickson medical psychodynamic hypnotherapy in Latvia. She was the head of the Society for Physicians Hypnotherapists in Latvia, and as a member of the International Society of Hypnosis had participated with scientific researches at the European and World congresses of contemporary hypnotherapy. She is the author of books about medical cognitive hypnodrama, hypnotherapeutic dreams therapy, use cognitive hypnotherapy and couple therapy for persons with sexual health disturbances. Inara Roja is the author of recent book: MEDICAL HYPNOTHERAPY (Publishing House “Madris” in Latvia, 2017), where are chapters about historical evolution and modalities of the medical hypnotherapy in Europe and world, the findings from modern neuroimaging studies and human brain activity measuring that helps physician hypnotherapist to evaluate the patient`s brain response to hypnotherapeutic intervention by biopsychosocial approach and efficiency of such non-pharmacological treatment.
