John D. Lentz D. Min was the Chief Chaplain at the Women’s Prison in KY for over 22 years. During that Time he also taught the Clinical aspects of Marriage and Family Therapy at the Presbyterian Theological Seminary. From 1998 till present he has been the Director of the Ericksonian Institute of Jeffersonville, Indiana where he teaches Hypnosis and practices marriage and family therapy. His institute teaches Hypnosis on a regular basis year round and invites attendees to continue to learn, grow and develop their own styles.

During the years when Dr. Lentz worked in the prison and taught at the seminary, Hypnosis was prohibited for legal and political reasons. As a result he created indirect methods, and techniques that utilize the knowledge of Hypnosis without inducing a formal trance. His approaches helped many women return to normal lives free of addiction, and or free of trauma that plagued them into prison. From his teaching and writing he has become known for his ability to work indirectly.

Dr. Lentz has offered workshops on a variety of topics nationally and internationally that included manipulation, miscommunication, anxiety, sexual abuse, sexual addiction, bipolar, and borderline personality disorder. A few of the workshops that pull on many different topics have included the following.
