Biography

Dr. Badenhorst completed her Master's degree in Psychology at the University of the Free State during 1993 and obtained her Doctorate during 1999 from Rand Afrikaans University (now Johannesburg University). She completed various courses in Therapy and Forensic assessments and assisted with play therapy training at Johannesburg University.

She also completed courses in Clinical Hypnosis up to advanced level from the Society of Clinical Hypnosis. She is one of the first candidates who obtained Diplomat status in Ego state and Ericksonian therapy from the Milton Erickson Institute of South Africa. She is presently director of the Milton Erickson Institute of South Africa and is responsible for the Ego State and Ericksonian training in the Western Cape.

Dr. Badenhorst attended various local and international workshops and congresses. She also published a number of articles and presents on national as well as international level. She has extensive experience in dealing with trauma and developed a course in forensic psychology. Dr. Badenhorst is also in the process of publishing a book, Principles, and Practice of Forensic Psychology and Related Professions, by the end of 2019.

In conjunction with her private practice, Dr. Badenhorst was a part-time lecturer at the Educational Psychology department at Stellenbosch University. She developed courses amongst others, The Role of Psychology in Forensic Work and Hypnosis for Medical Procedures.
